What's A Happening?

Hi everyone it has been forever and life has been complicated but I have missed my little blog space so I'm back. I am going to start with something superficialish because why not.



December Lipstick Challenge


This month I have been posting a lot of make up pictures. I am wearing it everyday as a challenge to stop me moping around and not taking care of myself. Like seriously in November I didn't brush my hair maybe 2/3 of the days, depression for you everyone.

So in December I am opening an advent calendar with a different lip colour everyday and I'm using them. It's been interesting a lot of them so far have been not my usual colours so that's been fun. My favourite thing about it has been some of the conversations I have had about makeup because of it. It's interesting hearing how makeup makes people feel. One person I was talking to sent me a thing about answering questions relating to beauty so I thought I would answer them here.

Questions

1. What is the first makeup item you remember owning?
Pink Glitter Lipgloss

2. What kind of foundation coverage do you prefer?
I basically just cover a little rosiness with my foundation unless I'm feeling rough. 

3. Favourite high end brand?
Aww bless you think I buy high end makeup

4. Favourite highstreet standard brand?
Definitely Revolution Makuep

5. False eyelashes?
No. I haven't achieved that level of sticking things to my face

6. What makeup can't you leave the house without?
Nothing. As stated some days I don't even manage to brush my hair

7. Most cherished makeup product ever?
I bought an urban decay lipstick in TKMAXX 8 years ago in Trainwreck. It is my all time favourite makeup item and I can not find anything like it anywhere. 

8. When did you start wearing makeup? 
Oh gosh a million years ago, I was maybe 12 when I had my own but had worn it for special (mainly halloween) things before

9. What colours go with your eyes?
Everything I think. I just sling on the colour I fancy and hope for the best.

10. Who taught you to put on makeup?
My mum a little bit. I just worked most of it out my having awful makeup for a few years.

 Petrol Bastard Live at The Peer Hat I wish every Tuesday could be like this but I am not rock and roll enough to handle that. After life being stolen by a pandemic and illness the energy at this gig was exactly what I needed. I can't explain it to you in words and do it justice so as standard I'm going to add pictures. Petrol Bastard, by Cute As Sin Photography There is always this strange feeling at a Petrol gig, Bastard or Hoers, we are all here for something we know is bloody weird and we don't know quite how its going to go down but we are doing it together. After being locked away from everyone this couldn't have been more perfect. Although I have to admit not everyone here was a stranger as always at one of these gigs I made new friends. Hay Festival

Neil Gaiman And Stephen Fry I have never been to the Hay Festival before. I see adverts for it and hear about the appearances but it's three and a half hours from home so it took something special to get me there.  Neil Gaiman and Stephen Fry When I saw there would be an audience with Neil Gaiman and Stephen Fry I knew I had to go. I have never fawned over actors or models, give me an interesting mind any day, a writer, an artist, a musician, a scientist some one who thinks beautifully. Then I am jelly. I turn into a teenage fan girl, I have now seen/met several of my favourite minds but Neil Gaiman remained top of my wish list.  From the moment I found his work I was enchanted, I would never return to be the person I was before I read American Gods. A book recommended by a friend. I sat down to begin and the next thing I knew it was the end of the book. I didn't move for roughly 8 hours, I completely ignored my partner, I was lost in the world of Shadow.

Murder By Gaslight

Murder By Gaslight at Salford Museum and Art Gallery A Review I know it's only two days since my last Don't go into the Cellar theatre company review but they were in a local Gallery that I love so how could I resist and indeed who would want to try.  The setting for this piece was perfect Victorian theatre in the Victorian room at Salford Museum and Gallery, what more could I ask for. It made for some spectacular imagery. I must add this Gallery is well worth a visit I love this room and the Victorian street is a delight. This is a museum well suited to children and adults alike.   So onto the theatricals. We entered the room and the first thing I noticed was the small but wonderfully detailed set. Every part so well thought out, the medical bag over flowing with papers recalling the details of the dreadful Dr's and the many bottles of poison, definitely made an impact before anyone had even taken to the stage.  Wonderful set design First we met Dr P
