Today I got called an Angry woman

Today I told a guy exactly how far he could fuck off, He said women should look and behave more appropriately, He said my opinion just showed I was one of those "angry women". He said my emotions made my point invalid, That you can't have a serious discussion once a woman gets emotional. He called me an angry woman like it was a bad thing, He thought this would insult and offend. Seriously  the dude has no idea, I pride myself on being that kind of angry. Although his knowledge is so lacking, He hasn't even noticed I'm not a women. He's talking but I don't think he has ever listened. If he paid attention he might notice that I am angry, Lots of people are angry, we are right to be pissed. If he paid attention he would notice my pride, That I know how to express those feelings, I know how to not be trodden on and silenced, By men who have never paid attention, Men who are shocked that they are being made to notice, My femme opinion. If h...

Hay Festival

Image
Neil Gaiman And Stephen Fry I have never been to the Hay Festival before. I see adverts for it and hear about the appearances but it's three and a half hours from home so it took something special to get me there.  Neil Gaiman and Stephen Fry When I saw there would be an audience with Neil Gaiman and Stephen Fry I knew I had to go. I have never fawned over actors or models, give me an interesting mind any day, a writer, an artist, a musician, a scientist some one who thinks beautifully. Then I am jelly. I turn into a teenage fan girl, I have now seen/met several of my favourite minds but Neil Gaiman remained top of my wish list.  From the moment I found his work I was enchanted, I would never return to be the person I was before I read American Gods. A book recommended by a friend. I sat down to begin and the next thing I knew it was the end of the book. I didn't move for roughly 8 hours, I completely ignored my partner, I was lost in the world of Shadow....

THE BATTLE FOR TOMORROW

Image
A Curious Cabaret Of Sonic Discordance At Maguire's Pizza Bar On Friday the 19th I travelled over to Liverpool for a rather interesting gig, The Battle For Tomorrow, described on the poster as noise doom spoken word clown drone punk poetry brickcore industrial grrrr.  The Battle For Tomorrow is an album of poetry by Adam Probert accompanied by the experimental noise of John E Smoke, but that's skipping ahead a little bit.  Adam Probert The gig was hosted by The Percy Vermin Experiment a master of words, with a marvellous flair for performance.  Percy Vermin The first act was poet, Ellie W Muddy reading three sensational poems. Her reading was impassioned and rousing. One of the poems was accompanied by an atmospheric noise piece making it even more engaging.  Ellie W Muddy Then there was a huge change in pace with Pandemonium, the noisiest clown I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He provided a fanfare of commotion, an ex...

Favourite Quotes

Image
So I thought sharing some of my favourite quotes with you might give you a bit of insight into me.  Photo by me Taken outside Liverpool Central Library   My all time favourite person to quote from is the wonderful Oscar Wilde. I could quote him forever, but I will just share a few of my favs. We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes. To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all. Too many people today know the price of everything and the value of nothing. My love of Oscar is long standing I fell in love with his wit at the age of 12. I bought the complete works around 18 and not a year passes where I do not fall in love with him all over again. I guess one of my next big quotable people would be Neil Gaiman. My love of whom is strongest when perfectly matched with Dave Mckean. I can not describe his writing in a way that does it any justice b...
